A member of JOYWO who is also a friend of mine asked me to mobilize women to join JOYWO so that we could benefit from the table-banking programme. I did not know much about the table-banking programme but when my friend told me about how she managed to buy a cow through it and I got motivated and mobilized fifty (50) women to join the programme. A staff of JOYWO came and trained us in table-banking.

Latter, JOYWO facilitated my group members to start poultry rearing project by selling us poultry chicks on credit. My group bought 500 chicks and when they attained the age of six weeks, we sold them at Kshs 300 each, making a total of Kshs 150,000. My husband added me some money with which I bought some chicks. I made Kshs 300,000 from the sale of chicks. When the chicks matured, I sold some 65 big birds at the total income of Kshs 60,000.

The layers give me 10 crates of 30 eggs each every day. I sell a crate of eggs at Kshs 300, generating a total of Kshs 3000 per day. The demand for the eggs is very high in Kapsabet town. I supply the eggs to hotels in Kapsabet town every week.

I have been able to secure a long term loan of Kshs 200,000 from my table-banking group to expand my poultry business. I am very grateful to JOYWO for the support that I have received from them because through the table-banking programme, my family is food secure and I am able to make money and meet some family obligations such school fees and clothing.
